Fine Joint Sand
The New GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND, suggests a refined and graceful superiority gradation, reflecting an elegance, a finish and a perfect jointing material done with taste. The colors offered for the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND are Black, Gunmetal, Taupe, Platinum and Vanilla. It is a ready-to-use mixture of calibrated sand and reformulated proprietary resins which cure when exposed to air, hardening from top to bottom of the joint. The product can be installed in wet or dry weather, in joints width*** ranging from a minimum 1/8″ (3 mm) to a maximum 2″ (50 mm) and a minimum joint depth of 3/4″ (20 mm) to 2 3/8″ (60 mm).

MAINTENANCE OF PAVED SURFACE
When maintaining the paved surface, apply Gator Shampoo to clean the entire surface including the stone joints. Wash, rinse and remove any residue by using a hose and a watering gun set to shower with the normal maximum water pressure from any residential or commercial building (typically 80 psi).
MOSS
GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND will not cause nor prevent moss, mold or mildew. Moss, mold and mildew are caused by certain on-site conditions including excess moisture, shade, absence of ventilation, inadequate cleaning or maintenance, presence of soil or other organic debris left on the product.
The quantity required depends on the size of the joints. One pail of 27.5 lb (12.5 kg). Paver Or Stone 12″ x 12″ x 2-3/8″ (30 cm x 30 cm x 6 cm). Porcelain tile 24″ x 24″ x 3/4″ (60 cm x 60 cm x 2 cm).

PREPARATION INFORMATION (IMPORTANT NOTES)

- GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND can be installed rain or shine. Paving surface must be pre-wet before installation and must remain wet throughout the installation process or staining may occur.
- **** GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND is an Extremely Strong and Rigid Jointing Material.
- For Pedestrian and Vehicular Applications.
- GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND must be installed above 37°F (3°C).

REQUIRED SUB-SURFACE PREPARATION AND FOUNDATION OPTIONS
GATOR NITRO-X JOINT SAND is recommended for a variety of uses, including patios, walkways, pool decks and driveways. The pavers, porcelain tile, natural or wet cast stones must be installed on one of the 2 base systems below:
DRAINAGE BASE
Crushed Stone Base (0-3/4”) with Sand or Chip Setting Bed (ASTM No.9).
GATOR BASE
Installation with Sand or Chip Setting Bed (ASTM No.9) (Pedestrian use only).
Installation Instructions
Designed for pedestrian and vehicular applications, GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND is ready-to-use and does not require any mixing. After you have followed the REQUIRED SUB-SURFACE PREPARATION described on the right-side panel, you are ready to apply the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND. Installation will be easier with two people.

Open the bag of GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND and spread 1/3 of the contents over the paved surface. Thoroughly soak the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND with water while using a squeegee or a hard bristle broom to spread and mix, allowing the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND to flow into the joints. Continue applying water while using a squeegee or broom to push the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND diagonally across the paved surface and into the joints. This action compacts and forces the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND into the joints ensuring the gaps are filled. Ensure joints are completely filled before moving on to the next section. Use a hard bristle broom for textured surfaces and final joint height setting.

NOTE
There is no need to protect treated joints from rain while setting. Although the presence of rain will delay the setting process. Full strength: 28 days but surface can be walked on after 18 hours. If heavy rain has occurred when the joints have been pointed, then it may be necessary to revisit the job once the weather has cleared to touch up joints.
GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND can be applied when pavers, porcelain tiles, Wet cast or natural stones are installed directly on open graded aggregates that lock or choke themselves. This means the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND will not migrate through the voids. Do not apply Gator Nitro-X Fine Joint Sand when the pavers, outdoor porcelain tiles, Wetcast or natural stones are installed directly on aggregates with large voids.
GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND becomes very firm but will detach from pavers, outdoor porcelain tiles, Wet cast or natural stones if the sub-base has excessive movement. It will also detach or crack from the pavers, porcelain tiles, Wet cast or natural stones, if they are oscillating back and forth due to improper sub-surface preparation.
By following GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND installation instructions carefully, you will obtain a very hard jointing material. It should be noted that GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND will continue to harden over time. When installing pavers, porcelain tiles, Wet cast or natural stones around an underground pool, a slope of 1/8″ (3 mm) per linear foot (30 cm) away from the pool is mandatory. All pavers, porcelain tiles, Wet cast or natural stone surfaces must have a drainage slope for the GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND to work at its optimum. For the pool coping blocks, it is mandatory to use mortar in the joints. For the rest of the pavers, porcelain tiles, wet cast or natural stones installation around the pool, you can use GATOR NITRO-X FINE JOINT SAND.
